History
The history of modern Kashmiri cuisine can be traced back to the fifteenth century invasion of India by Timur, and the migration of 1700 skilled woodcarvers, weavers, architects, calligraphers and cooks from Samarkand to the valley of Kashmir. The descendants of these cooks, the Wazas, are the master chefs of Kashmir. The ultimate formal banquet in Kashmir is the royal Wazwan. Of its thirty-six courses, between fifteen and thirty can be preparations of meat, cooked overnight by the master chef, Vasta Waza, and his retinue of wazas.Guests are seated in groups of four and share the meal out of a large metal plate called the trami. The meal begins with invoking the name of Allah and a ritual washing of hands at basin called the tash-t-nari, which is taken around by attendants. Then the tramis arrive, heaped with rice, quartered by four seekh kababs and contains four pieces of methi korma, one tabak maaz, one safed murg, one zafrani murg, and the first few courses. Curd and chutney are served separately in small earthen pots. As each trami is completed, it is removed, and a new one brought in, until the dinner has run its course. Seven dishes are a must for these occasions—Rista, Rogan Josh, Tabak Maaz, Daniwal Korma, Aab Gosht, Marchwangan Korma and Gushtaba. The meal ends with the Gushtaba.

Kashmiri beverages
Kashmiris are heavy tea drinkers. The most popular drink is a pinkish coloured salted tea called nun chai (or shir chai). It is made with black tea, cardamom, various spices, milk, salt and bicarbonate of soda. The peculiar colour of the tea is a result of its unique method of preparation and the addition of soda. This salted tea is very much like the salted tea prevalent in various parts of Central Asia.Nun chai is a common breakfast tea in Kashmiri households and is taken with special bread brought fresh from the bakers (kandur). Often, this tea is served in a large Samavars.At marriage feasts, festivals, religious places and when guests are welcomed, it is traditional to serve kahwah, a green tea made with saffron, spices and almonds or walnuts. There are 21 varieties of kahwah made in different households.Owing to the generally religious sentiments of Kashmiri Muslims, alcohol is not served among the Muslim community. However, there is no restricting on consumption of alcohol amongst the Pandit community. Alcohol consumption is a source of some controversy in the region.

2008 Kashmir Protests

Massive demonstrations occurred after plans by the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir state government totransfer 100 acers of land to a trust which runs the Hindu Amarnath shrine in the Muslim-majority Kashmir valley. This land was to be used to build a shelter to house Hindu pilgrims temporarily during their annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath temple.
Indian security forces and the Indian army responded quickly to keep order. More than 40 unarmed protesters were killed  and at least 300 were detained.The largest protests saw more than a half million people waving Pakistani flags and crying for freedom at a single rally according to Time magazine. Pro-Independent Kashmir Leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq warned that the peaceful uprising could lead to violent upsurge if India's heavy-handed crackdown on protests were not restrained. The United Nations expressed concern on India's response to peaceful protests and urged to investigate and bring to justice Indian security personnel who had taken part in the crackdown.
Separatists and workers of a political party were believed to be behind stone pelting incidents which led to retaliatory fire by the police. Autorickshaw laden with stones meant for distribution was seized by the police in March 2009.Furthermore, following the unrest in 2008, which included more than 500,000 protesters at a rally on 18 August, secessionist movements gained a boost.

2008 Kashmir elections

State Elections were held in Indian held Kashmir in seven phases starting 17 November and finishing on 24 December 2008. In spite of calls by separatists for a boycott an unusually high turnout of almost 50% was recorded. The National Conference party which was founded by Sheikh Abdullah and regarded as pro India emerged with maximum seats and will form government in coalition with Indian National Congress.
2008 marks the lowest civilian casualties in 20 years with 89 deaths, compared to highest of 1,413 in 1996. 85 security personnel died in 2008 compared to 613 in 2001, while 102 militants were killed. Many analysts say Pakistan's preoccupation with jihadis within its own borders explains the relative calm.
2008 marked the greatest number of anti India protests since 1980 due to the Amarnath land transfer controversy with several hundred thousand protesters spilling out onto the streets of Indian-administered Kashmir demanding freedom from India the protests were suppressed by the Indian army with attacks on protesters leading to the deaths of 40 unarmed civilians. However the elections which were held subsequently led to almost half of the Kashmiris ignoring the boycott call by separatists and voting Pro India party National Conference into power.Separatists insist that this was so because people were looking towards their well being and voting for whatever could get them 'bread and clothing',and the turnout did not necessarily reflect the feelings of the Kashmiris towards India.On 30 December Congress and the National Conference agreed to form a coalition government, with Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister. On 5 January 2009 Omar Abdullah was sworn in as 11th Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. In March 2009 Omar Abdullah stated that only 800 militants were active in the state and out of these only 30% were Kashmiris.

Why Propaganda Trumps Truth

September 15, 2009 "Information Clearing House" -- -An article in the journal, Sociological Inquiry, casts light on the effectiveness of propaganda. Researchers examined why big lies succeed where little lies fail. Governments can get away with mass deceptions, but politicians cannot get away with sexual affairs.

The researchers explain why so many Americans still believe that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11, years after it has become obvious that Iraq had nothing to do with the event. Americans developed elaborate rationalizations based on Bush administration propaganda that alleged Iraqi involvement and became deeply attached to their beliefs. Their emotional involvement became wrapped up in their personal identity and sense of morality. They looked for information that supported their beliefs and avoided information that challenged them, regardless of the facts of the matter.

In Mein Kampf, Hitler explained the believability of the Big Lie as compared to the small lie: “In the simplicity of their minds, people more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have such impudence. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and continue to think that there may be some other explanation.”

What the sociologists and Hitler are telling us is that by the time facts become clear, people are emotionally wedded to the beliefs planted by the propaganda and find it a wrenching experience to free themselves. It is more comfortable, instead, to denounce the truth-tellers than the liars whom the truth-tellers expose.

The psychology of belief retention even when those beliefs are wrong is a pillar of social cohesion and stability. It explains why, once change is effected, even revolutionary governments become conservative. The downside of belief retention is its prevention of the recognition of facts. Belief retention in the Soviet Union made the system unable to adjust to economic reality, and the Soviet Union collapsed. Today in the United States millions find it easier to chant “USA, USA, USA” than to accept facts that indicate the need for change.

The staying power of the Big Lie is the barrier through which the 9/11 Truth Movement is finding it difficult to break. The assertion that the 9/11 Truth Movement consists of conspiracy theorists and crackpots is obviously untrue. The leaders of the movement are highly qualified professionals, such as demolition experts, physicists, structural architects, engineers, pilots, and former high officials in the government. Unlike their critics parroting the government’s line, they know what they are talking about.

Gage is low-key, but not a dazzling personality or a very articulate presenter. Perhaps that is because he is speaking to a university audience and takes for granted their familiarity with terms and concepts.

Those who believe the official 9/11 story and dismiss skeptics as kooks can test the validity of the sociologists’ findings and Hitler’s observation by watching the video and experiencing their reaction to evidence that challenges their beliefs. Are you able to watch the presentation without scoffing at someone who knows far more about it than you do? What is your response when you find that you cannot defend your beliefs against the evidence presented? Scoff some more? Become enraged?

Another problem that the 9/11 Truth Movement faces is that few people have the education to follow the technical and scientific aspects. The side that they believe tells them one thing; the side that they don’t believe tells them another. Most Americans have no basis to judge the relative merits of the arguments.

For example, consider the case of the Lockerbie bomber. One piece of “evidence” that was used to convict Magrahi was a piece of circuit board from a device that allegedly contained the Semtex that exploded the airliner. None of the people, who have very firm beliefs in Magrahi’s and Libya’s guilt and in the offense of the Scottish authorities in releasing Magrahi on allegedly humanitarian grounds, know that circuit boards of those days have very low combustion temperatures and go up in flames easily. Semtex produces very high temperatures. There would be nothing whatsoever left of a device that contained Semtex. It is obvious to an expert that the piece of circuit board was planted after the event.

I have asked on several occasions and have never had an answer, which does not mean that there isn’t one, how millions of pieces of unburnt, uncharred paper can be floating over lower Manhatten from the destruction of the WTC towers when the official explanation of the destruction is fires so hot and evenly distributed that they caused the massive steel structures to weaken and fail simultaneously so that the buildings fell in free fall time just as they would if they had been brought down by controlled demolition.

What is the explanation of fires so hot that steel fails but paper does not combust?

People don’t even notice the contradictions. Recently, an international team of scientists, who studied for 18 months dust samples produced by the twin towers’ destruction collected from three separate sources, reported their finding of nano-thermite in the dust. The US government had scientists dependent on the US government to debunk the finding on the grounds that the authenticity of custody of the samples could not be verified. In other words, someone had tampered with the samples and added the nano-thermite. This is all it took to discredit the finding, despite the obvious fact that access to thermite is strictly controlled and NO ONE except the US military and possibly Israel has access to nano-thermite.

The physicist, Steven Jones, has produced overwhelming evidence that explosives were used to bring down the buildings. His evidence is not engaged, examined, tested, and refuted. It is simply ignored.

Dr. Jones’ experience reminds me of that of my Oxford professor, the distinguished physical chemist and philosopher, Michael Polanyi. Polanyi was one of the 20th centuries great scientists. At one time every section chairman of the Royal Society was a Polanyi student. Many of his students won Nobel Prizes for their scientific work, such as Eugene Wigner at Princeton and Melvin Calvin at UC, Berkeley, and his son, John Polanyi, at the University of Toronto.

As a young man in the early years of the 20th century, Michael Polanyi discovered the explanation for chemical absorbtion. Scientific authority found the new theory too much of a challenge to existing beliefs and dismissed it. Even when Polanyi was one of the UK’s ranking scientists, he was unable to teach his theory. One half-century later his discovery was re-discovered by scientists at UC, Berkeley. The discovery was hailed, but then older scientists said that it was “Polanyi’s old error.” It turned out not to be an error. Polanyi was asked to address scientists on this half-century failure of science to recognize the truth. How had science, which is based on examining the evidence, gone so wrong. Polanyi’s answer was that science is a belief system just like everything else, and that his theory was outside the belief system.

That is what we observe all around us, not just about the perfidy of Muslims and 9/11.

As an economics scholar I had a very difficult time making my points about the Soviet economy, about Karl Marx’s theories, and about the supply-side impact of fiscal policy. Today I experience readers who become enraged just because I report on someone else’s work that is outside their belief system. Some readers think I should suppress work that is inconsistent with their beliefs and drive the author of the work into the ground. These readers never have any comprehension of the subject. They are simply emotionally offended.

What I find puzzling is the people I know who do not believe a word the government says about anything except 9/11. For reasons that escape me, they believe that the government that lies to them about everything else tells them the truth about 9/11. How can this be, I ask them. Did the government slip up once and tell the truth? My question does not cause them to rethink their belief in the government’s 9/11 story. Instead, they get angry with me for doubting their intelligence or their integrity or some such hallowed trait.

The problem faced by truth is the emotional needs of people. With 9/11 many Americans feel that they must believe their government so that they don’t feel like they are being unsupportive or unpatriotic, and they are very fearful of being called “terrorist sympathizers.” Others on the left-wing have emotional needs to believe that peoples oppressed by the US have delivered “blowbacks.” Some leftists think that America deserves these blowbacks and thus believe the government’s propaganda that Muslims attacked the US.

Naive people think that if the US government’s explanation of 9/11 was wrong, physicists and engineers would all speak up. Some have (see above). However, for most physicists and engineers this would be an act of suicide. Physicists owe their careers to government grants, and their departments are critically dependent on government funding. A physicist who speaks up essentially ends his university career. If he is a tenured professor, to appease Washington the university would buy out his tenure as BYU did in the case of the outspoken Steven Jones.

An engineering firm that spoke out would never again be awarded a government contract. In addition, its patriotic, flag-waving customers would regard the firm as a terrorist apologist and cease to do business with it.

In New York today there is an enormous push by 9/11 families for a real and independent investigation of the 9/11 events. Tens of thousands of New Yorkers have provided the necessary signatures on petitions that require the state to put the proposal for an independent commission up to vote. However, the state, so far, is not obeying the law.

Why are the tens of thousands of New Yorkers who are demanding a real investigation dismissed as conspiracy theorists? The 9/11 skeptics know far more about the events of that day than do the uninformed people who call them names. Most of the people I know who are content with the government’s official explanation have never examined the evidence. Yet, these no-nothings shout down those who have studied the matter closely.

There are, of course, some kooks. I have often wondered if these kooks are intentionally ridiculous in order to discredit knowledgeable skeptics.

Another problem that the 9/11 Truth Movement faces is that their natural allies, those who oppose the Bush/Obama wars and the internet sites that the antiwar movement maintains, are fearful of being branded traitorous and anti-American. It is hard enough to oppose a war against those the US government has successfully demonized. Antiwar sites believe that if they permit 9/11 to be questioned, it would brand them as "terrorist sympathizers" and discredit their opposition to the war. An exception is Information Clearing House.

Antiwar sites do not realize that, by accepting the 9/11 explanation, they have undermined their own opposition to the war. Once you accept that Muslim terrorists did it, it is difficult to oppose punishing them for the event. In recent months, important antiwar sites, such as antiwar.com, have had difficulty with their fundraising, with their fundraising campaigns going on far longer than previously. They do not understand that if you grant the government its premise for war, it is impossible to oppose the war.

As far as I can tell, most Americans have far greater confidence in the government than they do in the truth. During the Great Depression the liberals with their New Deal succeeded in teaching Americans to trust the government as their protector. This took with the left and the right. Neither end of the political spectrum is capable of fundamental questioning of the government. This explains the ease with which our government routinely deceives the people.

Democracy is based on the assumption that people are rational beings who factually examine arguments and are not easily manipulated. Studies are not finding this to be the case. In my own experience in scholarship, public policy, and journalism, I have learned that everyone from professors to high school dropouts has difficulty with facts and analyses that do not fit with what they already believe. The notion that "we are not afraid to follow the truth wherever it may lead" is an extremely romantic and idealistic notion. I have seldom experienced open minds even in academic discourse or in the highest levels of government. Among the public at large, the ability to follow the truth wherever it may lead is almost non-existent.

The US government's response to 9/11, regardless of who is responsible, has altered our country forever. Our civil liberties will never again be as safe as they were. America's financial capability and living standards are forever lower. Our country's prestige and world leadership are forever damaged. The first decade of the 21st century has been squandered in pointless wars, and it appears the second decade will also be squandered in the same pointless and bankrupting pursuit.

The most disturbing fact of all remains: The 9/11 event responsible for these adverse happenings has not been investigated.

JEWS - THEIR MONEY AND THEIR CONTROL OVER THE WORLD

JEWS ARE THE BANKERS of the world. Banking has been the livelihood of the Jews for centuries. This is because historical Christendom forbad the employing of usury as forbidden in the Bible. Thus it was the Jews who were the money lenders of Christendom. And usury was charged by the Jews to the Gentiles whom the Jews always looked down upon as sub-human and not worthy of Biblical consideration.
THE MODERN AGE OF JEWISH BANKING began with Mayer Amschel Bauer who in 1750 set up the House Of The Red Shield (”House Of Rotschildt”) in Frankfort of the Austria-Hungary Empire in the area called, “Judengasse,” literally “Jew Street.” Mayer Amschel put up a banner on his store front with a Red Shield on it complete with the occult symbol of the so-called Jewish Star of David.
When learning that General von Estorfff, for whom Mayer Rothshcild ran errands when employed as a clerk at the Oppenheimer Bank, was a coin collector, and now attached to the court of Prince Wilhelm IX of Hesse-Cassel, Mayer Rothschild saw an opportunity that he coudn’t pass up. By offering valuable coins at discount prices, Mayer Rothschild soon ingratiated himself with the General and soon with Prince Wilhelm IX himself for whom he became the financial court agent.
In June, 1806, when Napoleon’s troops pushed their way into Germany, Prince Wilhelm IX fled to Denmark, leaving his money with Mayer Rothschild. Rothschild secretly buried Wilhelm’s 600,000 pounds ($3,000,000), to keep Napoleon from confiscating it. Mayer Rothschild made good use of his interest free “loan.”
Not long afterwards, Mayer Rothschild sent the ablest of his five Jewish sons, Nathan Rothschild, to establish a bank in London. Mayer Rothschild’s other four Jewish sons, he placed in Frankfort, Paris, Naples, and Vienna.
Developing circumstances allowed the Rothschilds to formulate a plan which would guarantee them the financial control of Europe, and eventually the world. It began with Napoleon’s military campaigns which proved to be a boon to the Rothschild’s banking empire in many ways.
Continental Europe being under siege, London became the financial capital of the world with Nathan Rothschild growing in prominence. His brother Jacob Rothschild, adopting the more elegant first name of “James” was stationed in Paris, where he undermined Napoleon’s empire, effectively channeling needed funds to the Duke of Wellington helping him in his campaigns against Napoleon.
Then the Rothschild’s saw another opportunity which they seized upon in their under-handed way. This was by taking advantage of the outcome of the Battle of Waterloo waged between the 1st Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesly and Napoleon. Early in the battle, Napoleon appeared to be winning, and the first military report to London communicated that fact.
But the tide turned in favor of Wellington. On Sunday, June 18, 1815, a courier of Nathan Rothschild named Rothworth brought the news to Nathan Rothschild in London on June 20. This was 24 hours before Wellington’s courier arrived in London with the news of Wellingon’s victory. Seeing this fortuitous event, Nathan Rothschild began spreading the rumor of a British defeat.
With everyone believing that Wellington was defeated, Nathan Rothschild began to sell all of his stock on the English Stock Market. Everyone panicked and also began selling, causing stocks to plummet to practically nothing. At the last minute, Nathan Rothschild began buying up the stocks at rock-bottom prices. This gave the Rothschild family complete control of the British economy, and forced England to set up the Central Bank of England, which Nathan Rothschild controlled.
Following the French securing massive loans in 1817 in order to help rebuild after their disastrous defeat at Waterloo, the Rothschilds saw their chance to get a firm grip on the French economy. Rothschild agents began buying huge amounts of French government bonds, which caused their value to increase. On November 5th, they were dumped on the open market, creating a financial panic as their value declined. Thus the Rothschilds gained control of France since the government bonds, being practically worthless, the House of Rothschild became the prime lender to the French government - “with interest” accruing daily.
These were the beginnings of the House of Rothschild, which controlled a fortune estimated to be well over $300,000,000. Soon the Rothschilds spanned Europe with railroads, invested in coal and ironworks, financed England’s purchase of the Suez Canal, paid for oil exploration in Russia and the Sahara Desert, supported Cecil Rhodes’ diamond operations, aided France in creating an empire in Africa, financed the Hapsburg monarchs, and saved the Vatican from bankruptcy.
THE ROTHCHILDS IN AMERICA
BACKED BY ROTHSCHILD MONEY, the British declared war on the United States. The Rothschilds’ plan was to cause the United States to build up such a debt in fighting this war that they would have to surrender to the Rothschilds and allow the charter for the Rothschild owned First Bank of the United States, (which in effect was America’s central bank), to be renewed. Thus the Rothschild’s financial control of America was secured.
But in 1833, President Andrew Jackson started removing the government’s deposits from the Rothschilds’ now-called, Second Bank of the United States, and instead deposited them into banks controlled by private American bankers who were not affiliated with the House of Rothschild as the JP Morgan Bank was. President Jackson is known for these famous words against the Rothschilds:
— “You are a den of thieves vipers, and I intend to rout you out, and by the Eternal God, I will rout you out.” —
ON JANUARY 30 1835, AN ASSASSIN tried to shoot President Jackson, but miraculously both of the assassin’s pistols misfired. President Jackson would later claim that he knew the Rothschilds were responsible for the attempted assassination. The assassin, Richard Lawrence, who was found not guilty by reason of insanity, later bragged that powerful people in Europe had hired him and promised to protect him if he were caught.
In the aftermath of President Andrew Jackson’s actions against the Rothschilds, a Prussian Jew by the name of August Belmont, (the son of Simon Schönberg), was sent by James Rothschild II to establish a bank in New York City with the intention to represent the House of Rothschild in America now that their “central bank” was weakened. Belmont, that is, “Schönberg,” later started the Interborough Rapid Transit Company, the forerunner of the New York City Subway System.
By 1861, the August Belmont Banking family along with the House of Rothschild were heavily involved in financing both sides in the Civil War. Lincoln put a damper on their activities when, in 1863, he refused to pay the exorbitant rates of interest demanded by the Belmonts and Rothschilds and issued constitutionally-authorized, interest-free United States notes.
Just five days after General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Grant, Lincoln was shot down in cold-blood by John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865. Booth’s grand-daughter, Izola Forrester, states in her book, This One Mad Act, that Booth had been in close contact with mysterious Europeans prior to the slaying and had made at least one trip to Europe.

9/11-ARAB OR ZIONIST HIJACKERS?

ZIONIST JEWS LOVE TO PLAY UP being victims of Arab suicide bombers. But are there “Jewish suicide bombers?” Indeed there are. One such Jewish “suicide bomber” is the Zionist heroine Hanna Szenes who emigrated to Palestine in 1938 during the founding of the Zionist State of Israel. Every Jewish child in Sabbath school is taught to revere Hannah Szenes.
Hannah Szenes is admired by Zionists for her 1944 parachute “suicide mission.” Szenes was dropped behind enemy lines to assist Hungarian Jews during WW II. She was immediately caught and executed. But Szenes expected her “suicide” to occur for she wrote in her diary just prior to her suicide mission, “Blessed is the match consumed in kindling flame.”
Another Zionist “suicide bomber” is Baruch Goldstein. On Purim morning, February 25 1994, Goldstein walked into a Muslim mosque in Hebron & opened fire killing 29 worshippers.
Goldstein knew what he was in for when he sealed the doors before opening fire: a suicide mission for the Zionist cause. For he was soon beaten to death by survivors. Goldstein is now hailed as a hero by the State of Israel which erected a shrine to him in Kiryat Arba.
Then there is the example of Irv Rubin, former head of the violent Jewish Defense League. Rubin was arrested in California in 2001 for plotting to blow up a Muslim mosque. Rubin later committed suicide in jail. Rubin is also hailed as a hero by Zionist Jews.

The hijackers were said to be 19 Arabs. Yet none of the passenger lists revealed Arab names. Somehow or other these unlisted Arab “hijackers” boarded the planes at Logan, Newark, and Dulles airports. Then within only 48 hours of the 9/11 event the FBI provided a list & even photos of the Arab “hijackers.” But of the 19 “hijackers” it is now a known fact that at least 9 of them were never on those planes but remain alive to this day.
On May 9 2008, Professor David Ray Griffin, author of 9-11 Contradictions, brought out a significant point about Mohamed Atta who was the alleged ringleader of the Arab “hijackers.” Griffen reported that Atta’s luggage never made it on board on American Airlines’ Boston Flight 11 even though there was almost an hour for the luggage to be loaded.
Atta’s luggage was used as “evidence” to prove that Arab “hijackers” took over the 9/11 planes. Found (rather “placed”) in Atta’s luggage was a copy of the Koran; an Islamic paradise wedding suit; a letter written by Atta that he planned to kill himself so that he could go to paradise as an Islamic martyr; and instructional videos for flying Boeing airliners Here & Here.
Now here’s the rub. Atta’s alleged Mitsubishi rental car was “found” in Boston Logan Airport’s parking lot containing *yet another* copy of the Koran and *yet even more* instructional videos on flying Boeing airliners Here & Here. And not only this, but Atta’s passport was “found” unsinged from the World Trade Center’s inferno a few blocks away from the catastrophe - even though Atta’s name is not listed on American Airline’s passenger list.
